The Arboretum Simeria

the vegetation forms with a light symmetric contour combined with the

Glodghilesti - Carmazanesti Caverns
At 10-13 km north-east of the locality Zam, at the western limit of the
Metaliferi Mountains, is a cavern area at Glodghilesti – Carmazanesti.
Covering a surface of 5 km the limestone of Glodghilesti - Carmazanesti
pertain to neo-Jurassic deposits. The endo-centre is composed of 27
natural cavities inventoried and explored between 1976-1978 by a team
of amateur speologists from Arad. It is represented by 24 caves and 3
cloughs. From the total of these cavities only five exceed the length
of 1000 m and a single clough exceeds the quote of 50 m.

The Aurel Vlaicu house
Is located in the former locality Bintinti, which took the name
of the well-known inventor and aviator. With help of the invention
plans, types of airplanes, mail, photographic material and divers other
objects kept the workshop and the memorial house „Aurel Vlaicu” was
rebuilt. The Aurel Vlaicu Museum was built beside this house.

Geoagiu
The locality Geoagiu is located on the course of the runlet Geoagiu, at
its confluence with the Mures river, the main water course in the
Orastie area and at the same time of the county. It is known especially
for its thermal waters. In the western part of the locality there were
found remains of the roman emplacement „Germisara”. There were found
proofs of roman basins with sauna developing an entire treatment
complex in the roman period. Today a swimming pool is opened here with
many basins, closed basins, baths, etc, accommodation and food units
for tourists, being an important spa resort of national interest.

The Dacian citadel Blidaru
Is located on a large plateau, at 705 m altitude, at south-west of the
village Costesti, on the valley of the runlet Gradiste. The citadel is
composed of two enclosures connected between them, built during
different periods.
The citadel, dated from the I-st
century b.C. – I-st century a.C. is along Costesti, Gradiste and Piatra
Rosie part of the defensive strategic system created by Burebista.

The Dacian citadel Costesti
Is located on the hill Cetatuia, on the left bank of Gradiste. Composed
of a castle – residence fortified with earth waves, palisades, walls
and defense towers. Within the interior four sanctuaries were found.
The stages of the construction:
I – enclosure made of ditches and earth waves. II – doubling the first enclosure during the reign of Burebista and enforcement with square towers.
The
Dacian citadel has known a development period during the reign of
Burebista and Decebal (I-st century b.C.. – I-st century a.C..)
