Within the county developed on national, county, commune roads and rail roads. The road network totals 1,936 km:

• national roads 383 km (20%)
• county roads 587 km (30%)
• commune roads 973 km (50%)

the density of the road network represents 276 km

Regarding the technical state of the road network presents the following structure:

• modernized roads 928 km (48%)
• paved roads 861 km (44%)
• earth roads 147 km (8%)

The bridges on the road network totals 11,845 ml being constructed of concrete steel, as exception a few bridges presently modernized. The transportation on rail roads within the territory of the County of Hunedoara is developed on a length of 339 km, whereof 158 km electrified (46%), insuring a viable connection with the other counties.
