Located in the Central-Western part of Romania, in the historical
province of Transylvania, Hunedoara County represents a special
importance for Romania. Historians agreed upon the fact that the
forming of the Romanian people is a result of the conquest of province
Dacia by the Romans. The fact that the capitals of ancient Dacia, as
well as that of the roman province Dacia, are located within the
territory of Hunedoara County, at a distance of only 100 km, is only a
game of history.
As a consequence, it is not mistaken to mention that Hunedoara County
is the essence of modern Romania, from these lands the Romanian people
created their own destiny.
These words describe reality so modestly, the best way to know this
land is by visiting it, even if only virtually, by means of this site.
You may discover extreme beauties, monuments full of mystery and
welcoming people.
I want to assure you that, if on your arrival you are guests, at the departure you'll be our friends.
Mircea Ioan Moloț,
President of Hunedoara County Council
